Mettler Toledo PS60 vs BC-60U Shipping Scale: What We Stock in Cypress

Aug 27
4 min read

A Houston shipping counter that still has a PS60 on the bench usually calls us with one question: do you have a PS60, or do I have to move to a BC-60U? All Scales USA answers that from stock we actually have in Cypress. Both families are on the live store. Both are 150 lb × 0.05 lb / 60 kg × 0.02 kg NTEP Class III parcel benches. They are not the same carton.

Mettler Toledo PS60 150 lb × 0.05 lb NTEP shipping and parcel scale

The PS60 we stock

The page this post is written against is Mettler Toledo PS60 shipping scale, 150 lb × 0.05 lb, NTEP — $988. Live specs: NTEP Class III, CoC 95-165 A1. GEOCAL location compensation. Adjustable LCD, 0.5 in digits. RS-232 and USB. AC adapter. Three-year warranty. In the carton: the PS60, AC adapter, USB cable, RS-232 cable, manual. The live page is explicit — this is not the BC-60U successor and not a 300 lb carton.

We also stock the ABS-platter PS60 listing PS60U5101-000 — $739. Same 150 lb × 0.05 lb class, same CoC 95-165 A1, ABS flat platter about 12.3 × 14.3 × 3.2 in overall. If you already have a PS60 on WorldShip or a FedEx station and you want the same family, that is the conversation. Call (832) 766-5410 before you assume the $988 and $739 slugs are different capacities. They are not.

The BC-60U we stock

The live BC-60U we write from is Mettler Toledo BC-60U bench, 150 lb × 0.05 lb, NTEP — $749. The page calls it the BC postal successor to the PS60. Stainless flat platter about 12.3 × 14.3 in. Base-mount LCD / graphical display. USB and RS-232; virtual serial / keyboard wedge. USB or AC adapter included. NTEP Class III, CoC 13-111A1 — a different certificate than the PS60. In the carton: BC-60U, stainless platter, base-mount display, AC adapter, USB cable, RS-232 cable, manual.

We also have live ball-top BC-60U listings at $1,199 and $1,282. Those are platter options, not a second comparison post. If boxes slide onto the scale all day, ask for ball-top. If you weigh bags and flats, the $749 stainless flat is the carton we usually put on a Cypress counter.

How we choose on a Cypress call

  • Already have a PS60 in the software? We try to stay in the PS60 family first — $988 or the $739 ABS listing — so the port and GEOCAL talk stay familiar.

  • Need a current BC postal bench? The $749 BC-60U is the live successor on our shelf. Different CoC: 13-111A1, not 95-165 A1.

  • Platter. ABS flat vs stainless flat vs ball-top. We will not guess a roller top that we do not stock on that slug.

  • Legal-for-trade shipping. Both benches are NTEP Class III on the live pages. Place-in-service is still a Texas process: NTEP in Texas.

  • A 30 lb portable bench is a different job — see compact digital bench scale.

The leaf is shipping and postal scales. NTEP catalog: NTEP legal for trade. If you want us to verify the bench after it hits a Houston dock, Houston calibration call and scale calibration Houston. We do not do truck scales. We do not name other dealers. We do not invent a same-day SLA.

A typical Houston shipping counter we walk has the bench under a label printer and a PC that already speaks USB or RS-232. GEOCAL on the PS60 is a location compensation, not a substitute for a known check weight after you move the scale across town. Cypress and a warehouse off I-10 are not the same GEOCAL conversation. Bring the software name — WorldShip, a FedEx station, or a generic manifest — and a photo of the platter. We will not promise a keyboard-wedge BC-60U will land in every old PS60 profile without a test.

If the counter also needs a 30 lb portable for envelopes, that is a different carton on compact digital bench scale. If the freight is a pallet, stop shopping a 150 lb parcel bench and go to floor scales. Sister site homepage for the same Cypress team: MNM Scales.

What we will not claim

This post is written from the live All Scales cartons only. We will not promise the BC-60U is a drop-in for every WorldShip profile. Bring the old scale’s port, the software name, and a photo of the platter. Pete at pete@allscales.com will tell you which carton we will actually ship.

FAQ

Is the BC-60U a drop-in for my PS60?

Same 150 lb × 0.05 lb class. Different NTEP certificate. Different platter options. Confirm the software sees USB or RS-232 the way your station expects. That is a Cypress phone call, not a blog promise.

Which price is real?

Live stock tonight: PS60 $988, PS60U5101-000 ABS $739, BC-60U stainless $749, ball-top BC-60U $1,199 and $1,282. We are not changing those prices in this post.
